Stand With Us to Protect Country

Support the purchase and restoration of a culturally significant property near The Rock.

All donations are tax deductible and receipted.

We are aiming to raise a deposit of up to $200,000 to secure this culturally significant Country.

A Future Sanctuary: Land, Culture, and Conservation

Southern West Yiradyuri Clans Aboriginal Corporation is a Traditional Owner-led organisation committed to building a sustainable economic base for our Country and Community. We operate without government funding and have worked hard to become financially strong – recently self-funding our first land purchase whch is culturally signifcant. We are in the process of building a native tree nursery at the property.

A rare and very culturally significant property adjacent to our recent purchase, near The Rock in NSW has now become available. While the timing is challenging, securing this land is vital to protect this important place and realise our long-term vision for healing Country.

We’re aiming to raise a deposit  of up to $200,000 toward the $850,000 purchase price. This property requires major clean-up works. All existing buildings are non-salvageable, and the site is strewn with materials, including asbestos. Once the land is cleared and made safe, we plan to install pest-proof fencing, restore native vegetation, and establish a sanctuary for threatened and endangered plants, animals, reptiles, and insects. This sanctuary will support breeding, conservation and education programs while serving as a place of healing for both Country and Community.

We know many of you will want to follow the journey of this project, and we welcome your interest and support. If you’d like to receive updates, including progress photos, stories from the ground, and opportunities to get involved, please sign up to our mailing list. We’ll be sharing milestones as we move from clean-up to restoration and beyond.

Every contribution counts. Thank you for standing with us to reclaim, protect, and restore this sacred land.

Our recent purchase

We have secured this culturally significant Country to establish home base and native nursery.

In 2024, a rare opportunity arose to purchase a culturally significant property near The Rock in NSW. Although the timing was unexpected, securing this land was a crucial step toward establishing a permanent base for our organisation and strengthening the economic foundation of Southern West Yiradyuri people for generations to come.

This important purchase was entirely self-funded by the Corporation and required extensive time, negotiation, and commitment to complete.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Westpac Bank for supporting us with a fair finance arrangement; to MinterEllison for their generous pro bono legal support; and to John Mooney Real Estate and Everick Foundation for their valued support throughout the process.
