Widhin

Widhin (opening to enter) is a digital archive project that Southern West Yiradyuri have partnered with both Nola Turner-Jensen and West Wiradyuri Traditional Owner Corporation. Widhin will be a repository that holds Wiradyuri resources which may include historical information, settler journals and diaries, images and other important information.

This project is a critical step toward Wiradyuri being able to manage and authorise our data in line with cultural lore and values to ensure it is protected and accessible.

The project is underway with Phase 1 expected to be complete in 2025.

Griffith Hospital Naming

The Griffith Base Hospital redevelopment project is committed to increasing Wiradyuri presence and connection through its naming of various sections of the new hospital in Wiradyuri ngiyang (language). The importance of community being connected to the new hospital is significant to the local and surrounding communities. Ngiyang will help the hospital be more welcoming and inclusive for Aboriginal people.

This project is underway with the final names being provided to the Hospital in early February 2024.
